The Teesside metropolitan area is centered on Middlesbrough in the North East of England which has a population of 135,000.  Middlesbrough lies at the heart of Teesside and is located on the banks of the River Tees.  The city lies close to the North Sea coast.

Teesside extends to the Scottish border at the north and includes the counties of Northumberland and Durham. It also includes the county of Tyne and Wear. The Teesside area was heavily industrialized and centered on iron, steel and shipbuilding.

Middlesbrough is a cosmopolitan city and includes many historical and cultural sites and events.  It is a thriving area with many hotels, restaurants and bars as well as unique shopping areas and bustling nightclubs.
