Venus and Serena to Dominate Olympics and U.S. Open Tennis Coverage

Roger Federer has been ranked number one in men’s tennis for the past four years. He does not want to lost his position but it has been threatened this season, mostly due to Rafael Nadal. These two have a longtime rivalry which makes for very exciting matches. Nadal won the French Open and then the Wimbledon this year. After the summer Olympics, the U.S. Open tennis tournament takes place.

And the U.S. Open tennis coverage is sure to spotlight both Federer and Nadal. One is on his way out of professional tennis and the other seems to just be warming up. It will be exciting to see these two players in the finals, which most predict they will be. It will also be interesting to see how all of the professional players fair since there will not be much of a break from the Olympics to the U.S. Open.

America’s best shot for a tennis metal lies with the Williams sisters. Venus and Serena are both exceptional players and they are both going to the Olympics. It will be interesting to see if they play each other in the finals because that is what happened at Wimbledon. I wonder how their father feels when his daughters play each other. Either way, the 2008 tennis season is only starting to get exciting.

Tire and Wheel Packages Go A Long Way in Corvette Restoration

I joined a classic Corvette car club recently. I belonged to one when I was younger but I stopped going when I got too busy with college. Now I have a little more time and I’m restoring one so I really feel like I get a lot out of it. Some of the other members helped me find rims for sale that were just right. And a few of them helped me install the rims.

Restoring cars is something that a lot of people love to do. I enjoy it because it gets me away from my everyday life and it keeps me from watching television. I don’t want to be stuck inside all of the time with nothing to do. Instead I want to be fixing up my Corvette. And if I’m not fixing it up, I want to be deciding what needs to be done next and where I’m going to get the parts. For instance I knew I was going to need to find great tire and wheel packages.

Fixing it up helps me to feel valuable. I spend over 40 hours a week at a desk, looking at a computer screen. When I get home the last thing I want to do and should do is stare at another one. Fixing it up myself helps me to save money and that makes me feel good. So not only do I enjoy it, it builds my self-worth.

Why NASA’s 50th is about More than Space

On July 29, 1958 our nation began to explore our world and the universe in ways we could have only dreamed at the time. It is a misconception to think that the most significant achievements of NASA are only related to outer space. Constant out-of-the-box research has led to new discoveries and advancements in technology that shape our modern world.

To observe the contributions NASA has made to society, they have created a website dedicated to just their role in shaping the cornerstone of travel today – aeronautics. Everything from glass cockpits to air traffic management, NASA had a hand in its creation. They also helped create icing detection, develop the use of composite materials, and established the practice of runway grooves. So, the next time your package is delivered by airmail or if you take a flight out to a nearby city, remember how those space guys and gals made it all possible.

New Area Rugs and Husband’s Painting Make Update Easy

Updating the look of any room is simple. I wanted to update my living room, dining room and bedroom but I didn’t want to spend a fortune. I got throw pillows that match my sofa but helped give the room a new look. I also got new window treatment and area rugs. The colors in the rugs pull colors from everywhere else and tie everything together nicely.

After that I bought a couple of old tables from a local flea market. I gave them a distressed paint job and they looked perfect. All that was left to do was get new pictures for the walls. This was my favorite part because my husband is a talented artist. I told him what colors to use and just let him do his thing. He pulled a lot of colors from that rugs. He was even able to get the shag rug to blend in with everything else.

Now I love my new living room and I didn’t have to spend very much money. I think I’ll concentrate on my bedroom next and then the dining area. I’ll have an entirely updated house before long and it will end up being very inexpensive.
